The Three-Paragraph Model with a List in Paragraph Two Copy

You will often find that you have more detail than will fit into three simple paragraphs. You need to build a case or explain your analysis. That’s when you want to use the Three-Paragraph Model with a List. This is the model you will use for about 80% of your writing.

The only difference between model one and model two is paragraph two:

The Three-Paragraph Model has one main idea in paragraph two.

The Three-Paragraph Model with a List has one main idea with two or more key supports in paragraph two. This list is organized under a forecasting sentence.

We’ve spent a lot of time so far on paragraphs one and three. In this chapter we’ll concentrate on paragraph two.
